Don’t Make Me Come In There And Get You…

This will be a short update:

Scheduled c-section, on for tomorrow.

Yesterday (38 weeks and 1 day) at my check up,  the Cervix of Steel still had not budged.  Since last week, my swelling has gotten worse, I’ve developed a case of itchy skin that is so bad I’ve had to call the doctor twice, and just to add some fun to the mix, I somehow managed to do something to my pelvis that renders it almost unworkable.  Meaning standing, sitting and oh yeah! walking are almost impossible. I haven’t slept in days…

I’m going back today for more blood work because they’re concerned about cholestasis, some sort of liver disease that can strike late in pregnancy.

Good times, people, good times!

I think the last nine months of relative quiet on the pregnancy front is now finally catching up to me in these last days.

I will try to update as soon as I can!

  20. Good luck tomorrow! I have to say, if you’re going to have a c-section, scheduled is the way to go 🙂 I don’t know if you are at all interested, but I wrote a pretty detailed description of my C after Ant was born. I couldn’t find a good idea of what to expect anywhere when I found out about mine, so if you’d like to read it (in all the oodles of time you have tonight), it’s at http://noperiodbaby.blogspot.com/2006/09/antonys-birth.html

  21. Just wanted to quickly wish you well! I hope all goes smoothly. Won’t it be so wonderful to be able to love on your baby ?!?! 🙂

  22. i’m sure this seems trivial by comparison, but at least i can reassure you that the “hanging beef jerky” symptom DOES return to its normal position in the deli drawer within a week or two.
good luck tomorrow!! can’t wait to hear the big news!!!!

  23. woo hoo! The babes are coming tomorrow! Can’t wait to hear your birth story. I hope it is easy and uneventful. I know it will be blissfully wonderful! So excited for you all!

  26. I also had the horrible itching that they thought was cholestasis. AFter a few blood tests, it was decided that it was idiopathic itching not cholestasis. Much less of a concern for you since you’ll be delivering tomorrow. Mine lasted about 3 days post partum and is thank God over! Good luck tomorrow & congratulations!

  27. Best wishes for a safe delivery. I’ll be thinking of you and the babies!!! I’m so excited and happy for you!!!
